Adult Education's First Career Pathways Event
This summer, Atlantic Community High School's Adult Education held its first ever Career Pathways Event. The event was organized by Cori Walls, who is the Guidance Counselor for the Adult Education Program. Ms. Walls started by adding resume writing to the curriculum one night a week and meeting with the students to help them practice interviewing. She then contacted local businesses and invited them to send representatives to the event. The representatives were there to meet with, speak to, and set up interviews with the students. It not only gave the students a real world opportunity to practice what they were learning in the classroom, but some also got a chance to go in to interview for a job in their chosen field. All in all, it was a very successful night!
